Most self-describe progressive Christians tend to be quite orthodoxy on certain matters of dogma--they tend to be Trinitarians, for example, and many or most seem to believe in the literal truth of the resurrection of Jesus. And then there is the whole question of whether a particular church, even if it is progressive, matches my style or my spiritual needs in its form of worship, its activities, its sense of community, and so on.Mystical Seekerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10828225180668865911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29128991.post-9277390880930832432007-06-04T05:45:00.000-07:002007-06-04T05:45:00.000-07:00*scratches his head*It's hard to find progressive ...*scratches his head*

It's hard to find progressive religion in San Francisco?Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17980181582122445265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29128991.post-68042244300649506782007-06-03T03:22:00.000-07:002007-06-03T03:22:00.000-07:00Most Anglicans believe the words of the creeds alt...Most Anglicans believe the words of the creeds although there are many different understandings of what belief means. I find this liberating, especially in these present times when fundamentalism is creeping into my church. Because we have a basic credal statement I think I am well within my rights to say to people who wish to control my thoughts that I don't have to believe anything that isn't in the creeds and that would include stuff about morality and church government etc. At the moment it is only the creeds that stand between freedom and fascism in my church.MadPriesthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15120376342802143188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29128991.post-6872737457862941792007-06-03T01:02:00.000-07:002007-06-03T01:02:00.000-07:00Ah.. the URL got a bit truncated - it should end -...Ah.. the URL got a bit truncated - it should end -

/pelikan/index.shtmlRay Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16839000583738213251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29128991.post-64392508801320243282007-06-03T01:00:00.000-07:002007-06-03T01:00:00.000-07:00http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/programs/pe...http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/programs/pelikan/index.shtml

This is an interesting radio programme on creeds - thought it may interest you

~rayRay Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16839000583738213251noreply@blogger.com
